Today is 'Thankful Thursday'! I love this day! I have so many things to be thankful for, so it took me a while today to narrow it down to ONE! :)
Today I am thankful for...
PRAYER!!
There are so many reasons that we go to the Lord in prayer. We ask for things that we feel we need, things that we want, for good health, for love & acceptance, for peace in the midst of a storm. So many things.
This week I have been struggling a bit with anxiety again. I think I know why, but there were times that I let worry in. This morning, before I even got out of bed though, I started to pray. I started to claim "You, oh Lord, have not given me the spirit of fear! You have given me comfort & peace. I need it now, Lord!" I asked Him to calm me & to give me the peace that I KNOW HE CAN GIVE! Guess what? I haven't had any issues at all the entire day!! No problems with a topsy turvey tummy. No fluttering in my chest. No feelings of doom. I haven't been anxious at all!
He told us in His Word to come to Him & He will give us rest! So, why don't we? Why do we wait so long?
I think sometimes we get wrapped up in our daily lives that we just don't stop to pray. I think that there are also times that we may think 'oh, the Lord doesn't need to hear my complaining or my worries...He has more to deal with'.
That's not so. If He is so powerful & mighty that He knows how many hairs are on our head and cares for the little sparrows...He can handle our EVERY NEED!
That job that you are wanting? Go to Him with it!
Feeling lonely or discouraged? He would LOVE to hear from you & fill you with His comfort!
Are you worried or anxious or fearful? He says to cast "ALL" your cares on Him, for HE CARES for you!!
DON'T WAIT! DON'T HESITATE! Go to Him NOW with your burdens, wants, and needs. He Loves to communicate with His children. He is waiting.....CALL ON HIM!
I'm glad you're doing better...keep up the writing! :-) Love you!! Hugs, Mom
ReplyDeleteThank you Dawn for the reminder...and your right many times the things in our daily life get in the way...but we should talk with "Him" first...what ever the reason!!! Good, bad, or just to be thankful.... Kathy
