COME JUST AS YOU ARE
That's pretty much the theme of our church. Come just as you are. Do you have dress clothes? Ok...go ahead and wear them. Is your 'best' a pair of cut offs? Feel welcome in that as well! Do you have burdens? Bring them with you, but you will want to leave them at the altar as the presence of the Lord relieves the load.
Brian and I came to Calvary Missionary Church in Pontiac almost 2 yrs ago after many years of being away from church in general. We were looking for a place that would accept us for who we are, where we would be comfortable, feel loved, hear good preaching, and be able to use our gifts. We were comfortable right away!
There was instant love and acceptance. We felt right at home from the first Sunday that we were there! This was a huge jump, for me especially! I had grown up Baptist & it was far different from the Pentacostal practices at Calvary. But, you know what? It has felt right since the day we stepped through the door. The Lord is working among His people and it is so evident! You can sense the Spirit so mightily when the Word is being preached & lately, the alter calls & prayer time have been just plain incredible!!!
Is our church huge? Nope. But, it is large in love.
Do we have big jumbo trons displaying the praise team songs or preacher? Nada. But, the Spirit moving is larger than any of that.
There are a lot of changes being made in our church. Lots of things coming down the pike! Brian and I are so excited to see what is going to happen! How God is going to move! How we can get involved in it all!! I invite you to come by! You will be Blessed! Dad Brown or Pastor Dan will be at the door to greet you with a hand shake! Rhonda or Deb will hand you a bulletin & a smile :) When you walk into the sanctuary, you won't get past Iris without a nice big warm hug!! (they're the BEST!)
Then stand up and join me and the Praise Team as we start thanking the Lord in song for what He is doing! You'll hear us thanking Him for Freeing us, for lifting our chains with His Amazing Grace, for being our Friend! Then sit back, and enjoy a GREAT WORD from the Lord through Pastor Deb. She is a mighty warrior for God and a wonderful deliver of His message! You will come away BLESSED! Oh, and afterward, join us all for lunch....you can usually find us up the street at Nikko's! :)
Just Come! Come just as you are....
