NAME WITHOUT A FACE
A name without a face
the outline, in my mind, I trace
I try to picture the things that I've heard about you
Blond hair like your brother, and eyes of blue.
They tell us that we have to wait
There is a lot of legal red tape
But, in our hearts, you are already our son
We don't need the legalities to be done
A name without a face, yet I know,
one day soon we will be together & say our first 'hello'!
Your Daddy will wrestle with you & teach you how to be a man!
He will smile & make you laugh, like only he can!
Oh how I long to hold, cuddle, & kiss you, as your mother
"Lil D" longs to grow up with his 'baby brother'
Yet, a name without a face...still we have to wait
I pray that the time is short & I contemplate
I look at the room that you will be in
I picture the cradle, & sigh from within
I imagine you in my arms & cooing up at me
Daddy & Dakota looking over with glee.
I picture you a little older & swinging in the yard
A family, altogether, even sending announcement cards!
Oh how I long for the day that you will truly be ours
The days go so slowly...I'm counting the hours!!
A name without a face, but only for a little longer
Some day soon we will be together, we just have to be stronger.
I love you, dear Nickolas, even now ... without a face to the name.
I look forward to the day when we can proclaim...
You are no longer a name with out a face!
