So, I've been thinking that I should blog....but not quite sure what to say. There has been quite a bit going on, but where to start??
Ok...here we go...
We went to church after a long hiatus, 3 years to be exact!! The church seems like a great place! I guess time will tell! Of course, we went one Sunday...3 weeks ago, & haven't been back! Why, you may ask? I have a theory!
Doesn't it always seem that when you are trying to do right, trying to get your life on track, trying to live for the Lord....that stinkin old snake starts nippin at your heals??
Seriously!! The week after we went to church, Dakota was sick. Then, I got it. I ended up with a sinus infection, ear infection & laryngitis! Nice, eh? After being on antibiotics, we were thinking, ok, this Sunday we will be able to go back to that church! Nope. I started getting this ache in my chest. What the heck? I'm only 38!! But, I thought, maybe it's that antibiotic that I'm on. So, I take myself to the Dr. She runs an EKG 'just to be safe'. The EKG shows a little 'blip'. She doesn't seem overly concerned, but wants me to get a stress test ... again.... 'just to be safe'. I go home..they can't get me in until Thurs the 19th. This is last week.... The ache continues. Saturday it gets pretty bad, so Brian and I head to the E/R. Just how I wanted to spend my Valentines Day!
In the Hospital, they too do the EKG. They too see the little abnormality on it. So...you guessed it...to be 'safe' they keep me over night. It was so scary. My little man was so concerned. Saying "Mommy, are you going to be ok?"...all while he is caressing my cheek with his hand. (how adorable is he?!). My mother in law came and spent the night with my guys & they told me that Dakota really worked it that night too so that he could sleep with daddy in our bed! :) Anyway, I had to do the Stress Test on Sunday morning with an Echocardiogram. The good news is that the Cardiologist said that little abnormality that they saw on my EKG is normal. (that is a weird sentence, isn't it?! LOL). The Stress Test & Echo came back normal & they sent me home!!!!! Praise the Lord...it isn't my heart!!! So....what is the problem then? Looks like it is my osteoarthritis in my neck that is causing the ache. I followed up with my Dr. yesterday. She is putting me on some new medicine and hopefully it will help. The 'good news' is that the arthritis is only going to get worse as I age. I'm soooo looking forward to that!
So, we had a few weeks of illnesses to keep us from church. Coincidence? I think not. Guess what though? It is not discouraging us! We are determined! We are going to stomp on that snakes head and move forward! For we are more than Conquerors....we have God on our side!
We are back from the brink & ready to serve! Lord, show us where....and we will follow!!!
I will be praying for you! Glad to hear you are "ok". :S
